The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) is proud to highlight the impact of our Comfort Kit Program partnership with Beacon of Light Institute for Veterans (BOLV) in Florence, South Carolina.
Through this in-kind Comfort Kit distribution, BOLV was able to put practical, essential supplies directly into the hands of veterans in their community, alongside the support and connection that makes these events feel human, not transactional.
Impact at a glance
BOLV reported the following impact as part of this FY 2026 Comfort Kit Program In-kind Donation Impact Report:
- 500 Comfort Kits received
- 250 Women’s Kits received
- 650 veterans attended the events
About Beacon of Light Institute for Veterans
Beacon of Light Institute for Veterans is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering U.S. military veterans through holistic healing, education, and community reintegration. Their mission is rooted in helping veterans rebuild their lives, strengthen their families, and move toward lasting stability.
“No Hero Left Behind” event distribution
BOLV distributed DVNF Comfort Kits to veterans through their main event, No Hero Left Behind, a free food and toiletries giveaway held December 6, 2025.
BOLV also shared that remaining kits were distributed through local partners, including a local DAV chapter and a VA medical center, helping extend the reach beyond a single day and ensuring more veterans could be served over time.
DVNF Comfort Kits are designed to deliver immediate, practical support, especially for homeless, disabled, and at-risk veterans. Kits can include items such as blankets, toiletries, and clothing, and they are often distributed through Veteran Stand Downs and Grab N Go style outreach events.
In addition to DVNF’s direct outreach, DVNF also supports like-minded organizations that serve veterans locally, so vetted partners can apply to receive Comfort Kits and distribute them where they are needed most.

Thank you to Beacon of Light Institute for Veterans
We’re grateful to Beacon of Light Institute for Veterans for the work they do every day, and for sharing this impact report so we can spotlight what happens after Comfort Kits reach the community: they turn into real moments of relief, dignity, and connection.
