What We Do at the Disabled Veterans National Foundation
It’s a changing world. And in this time of war, the needs of America’s disabled veterans are in a constant state of flux. With this in mind, the Disabled Veterans National Foundation stays as flexible as possible in bringing hope to heroes through our many veterans programs.
One of our main goals is to help veterans to stay informed, whether through our Benefits and Resources Navigation (BaRN) pages on our website, or to stay up to date on the latest issues that could affect veterans. Many veterans will seek help from organizations, when the reality is that there are many helpful programs through the VA that they may have not known about.
At other times, we can achieve maximum impact by collaborating with like-minded organizations, a trend that’s strongly encouraged among modern charities as a means to build efficiencies and avoid duplications of services.
Along these lines, we frequently make grants to achieve focused goals on behalf of specific groups of veterans who can fall through the cracks of traditional services. These include women who served our country, homeless veterans, and those who suffer such invisible wounds as brain injuries and PTSD.
