#ThankVets This Memorial Day
Posted on:

Throughout the month of May, help us recognize a veteran who is important to you! DVNF is calling on you to submit a photo of a veteran who means a lot to you, and help us recognize and thank them for their service.

Include a little bit about that veteran, such as their branch of service, rank, dates of service, and anything else notable you’d like to include. Make sure you add #ThankVets with your photo!

You can submit photos on our Facebook page, Twitter page, or you can email them to us at communications@dvnf.org. Once Memorial Day arrives, we will pay tribute to these veterans by creating a photo album on our website dedicated specifically to these individuals. We will also share the photos submitted on our social media sites with our followers.

Though we aren’t calling this a “contest,” we encourage you to participate so we can help everyone understand the sacrifices our men and women of the military have made, and continue to make for us. We want everyone to see the faces of heroism, and the many forms it can take.

And don’t forget, you can also pay tribute to a veteran through our honor wall!

*By submitting a photo, you are giving DVNF permission to use this image on our website and social media pages for this initiative. If the veteran you’d like to recognize is still living, please make sure they have no objections to being recognized on DVNF’s website and social media pages.

The Disabled Veterans National Foundation exists to provide critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded—physically or psychologically—after defending our safety and our freedom.

We achieve this mission by:

  • Offering direct financial support to veteran organizations that address the unique needs of veterans, and whose missions align with that of DVNF.
  • Providing supplemental assistance to homeless and low-income veterans through the Health & Comfort program and various empowerment resources.
  • Providing an online resource database that allows veterans to navigate the complex process of seeking benefits that they are entitled to as a result of their military service, as well as additional resources they need.
  • Serving as a thought leader on critical policy issues within the veteran community, and educating the public accordingly.
