When DVNF hired Chief Executive Officer Joseph VanFonda (USMC SgtMaj Ret.) upon his retirement from the Marine Corps, Mr. VanFonda wanted the organization to truly solidify its commitment to helping veterans in need.
Recognizing that no collection of programs intended for veterans would fully encompass every need, VanFonda expressed a vision that was rather unique. Using his wealth of knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs from his tenure as a Wounded Warrior Regiment Sergeant Major, VanFonda decided that DVNF should concentrate more on filling in the gaps, and implementing a more comprehensive approach to helping veterans.
Thus, BaRN was created.
What is BaRN?
Benefits and Resources Navigation (BaRN) is an ever-growing resource database for veterans. We envision this evolving into comprehensive, one-stop location for veterans to easily find the resources that will address their needs.
DVNF has a Navigator on staff who is HIPAA certified and highly trained in non-medical case management. She will continue to develop these resources, and will help veterans if they still require further assistance. That means, they know what is out there, and will not only make recommendations for the veteran, but will take an active role in ensuring the veteran is taken care of.
DVNF has worked with many organizations around the country who work with veterans on many issues and we are always in search of others who share our passion for service to veterans! Please visit our BaRN pages for resources at your fingertips.
*If you are a veteran who is still in need of assistance and can’t find what you are looking for, call us at (202) 737-0522, or email us at email@example.com and our navigator will try to assist you.
